Burial Urns Provided
When one of our family members, who was a Veteran passed away, our family checked into cremation and looked at an urn to purchase. After looking at the different options, it was decided that we could make a quality wooden urn that would honor our loved one. After finishing the wooden urn, we decided to honor all Veterans and offer support to their families by providing a free urn. These urns are made possible by generous donations.

Free Urns for Veterans History
Free Urns for Veterans started up in 2014. Since then, we have been able to help veterans across our country. On March 31, 2022 Free urns closed down after helping 2,242 veterans. About half of our volunteers and family wanted to retire to spend time with their families. Volunteers and family are our base to run Free Urns for Veterans to help Veterans families. My wife Tami and I have built and finished these urns from the beginning and still wanted to continue to help Veterans in some way. Roger who is one of the volunteers that has been with us from the mid-way point, wanted to stay on to help also. After the three of us talked, we found out that his nephew, Andrew Gervais is the director of Veterans programs and Memorial Affairs at the MN Dept. of Veterans Affairs (MDVA). After talking with Andrew, Free Urns decided to go into partnership with the MDVA and agreed to supply MDVA with a number of urns each month to the 3 MN State Veterans Cemeteries. Which are, Little Falls, Preston and Duluth. (4th Cemetery to open fall of 2023 in Redwood Falls.)
As of August 1, 2022 Free Urns for Veterans only supplies urns to the Minnesota State Veterans Cemeteries. Preston, Little Falls, Duluth, and Redwood Falls, MN. If you have any questions, please email us at free.urns@aol.com.
